AKALIN CPA was founded by Erdem Akalin, a California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Turkish Certified Public Accountant (SMMM) with extensive experience in both U.S. and Turkish accounting and tax systems. Erdem began his career at Deloitte and most recently served as a Senior Auditor in Deloitte's Los Angeles office, where he led external audit engagements for large private and emerging growth companies in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and PCAOB standards.
During his time at Deloitte Los Angeles, he managed audit teams, oversaw complex financial reporting engagements, evaluated internal controls (SOX 404), and worked closely with executive management to ensure accurate and compliant financial statements. His experience includes revenue recognition (ASC 606), IPO readiness, consolidated financial statements, and technical accounting research.
With dual CPA credentials in California and Turkey, Erdem brings a unique cross-border perspective, providing expertise in U.S. and Turkish accounting standards, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance.
